This is an amazing experience for friends, workmates, Drinking partners and anyone with interest in Gin.
Did you know that the origin of Gin as a drink runs back to the 16th Century? Yes, it started with people using it for medical effects and disinfectant healing powers of the juniper berries that were consumed to fight against fever and even pests. If you are a gin lover, it’s all because of a Dutch doctor called Franciscus Sylvius De La Boe who made a schnaps distilled with juniper berries called Genever.
Did you also know that in 1733 England’s population consumed on average a staggering 47 million litres of Gin? The first Gin tonic which most of us love was born in India after British occupation when soldiers had to ingest quinine everyday in prevention of malaria and they added water, sugar and lime to cover the bitter taste then later they started to add gin which led to the birth of Tonic Gin. The name Gin originates from a French name for the Juniper berries “Genièvre altered later to Genever with the English people shortening it to Gin (I though it was only our Kikuyu and other Africans shortened names and changed the pronunciation of some words🤣🤣🤣 like Jororoko from Ol Joro Room🤪😜🤓)
Besides this experience, Kenya Originals are into amazing Gins and amazing tonic drinks from friendly gins to “tongue twisting” or “eye twitching” drinks of 50+% my favourite collector drink that I am soon getting for my short sips is one that pays tribute to Masai mara called Mara Edition
There you go now, if you are looking for a new and unique gin experience or you need an experience of spirits journey and making your own personalized bottle of gin this is what you need to try like the day before yesterday because tomorrow you will have been late😜
Happy new Gin experience month of April from the innocent tongue Twister Brewer
