From a humble dusty land one of the oldest archeological sites belonging to the Oldowan period, with stone tools dating to 700,000 years ago found at Kariandusi, to it turning into a livestock and wildlife ranching by Lord Delamere to becoming a site of global significance for bird and biodiversity conservation, in 1999, 2005 became a Ramsar Site (wetland of international importance) in 2005 to it being gazetted as a National wildlife sanctuary 2010 and becoming enlisted together with Lakes Nakuru and Bogoria as the Kenya Lakes System in the Great Rift Valley as a world Heritage site by UNESCO in 2011 while today probably ik near future it is growing to be a competitive holiday destination against famous Naivasha Town
This is a place I have lived knowing since I was young because having been brought about on the opposite but neighbouring horizons at the foothills of Ndunduri hills we used to have a stenchy smell during the dry season when we were young and the old generation used to tell us that it was a sign that Kariandusi (thats how they called Lake elementaita in our village) had dried up and the stench was from the drying algae water so I knew the place before I got to see it with my eyes and only saw it in my Primary school school tours to the Kariandusi mines.
I have been to this area for hikes on the sleeping warrior, table mountain. Been to the area for a camping getaway at the near by Oasis Nature Camp and view point campsite, I have been to the hot springs, to the African Forest to the Panoramic Elementaita mountain lodge and have seen the area grow as a holiday decoration.
However nothing compares to my recent visit of the area this time around I was at the beautiful Sirville lodge
My visit was to experience the new adventure in this area that is just 120 km northwest of Nairobi City. The lodge has just opened up an adventure park and this is one of the most amazing things on offering in this area to the area of Naivasha Town.
On offer at the new adventure park is Skybiking, Lazer Tagging to Zipline and many more activities that are to make your visit be memorable whether you are staying at their beautiful rooms or you are a day visitor.
There is also an upcoming water park which is going to be like the top experience on your stay at this beautiful lodge and so much they said and promise to be bringing into offering
