It has been a long time since I set out to explore the northern Part of beautiful Kenya however over a weekend dated 10th of February I was on the road to this Beautiful Destination in mind I had Buffalo springs as my ideal destination.
As usual it was an early departure from Nairobi from the usual meet up point just a few metres from Kencom house this time the main sponsor for this adventure was Kenya Outdoors
With amazing stopovers, the journey went on so well. Best of all is always when you cross over the equator and feel like shouting “Mwalimu wa GHC hapa ni wapi?” (Yes I am a GHC student)
After passing Nanyuki the Land of “mwisho wa reli’ you pass by the beautiful agricultural land of Timau then In to Isiolo which is like the gateway to the north Frontier the land of hidden gems.
On arrival at the Buffalo springs you get to realize how beautiful this land is, so rich with diverse wildlife with the greatest attraction being the Springs that have a historical happenings behinds it’s origin
After moments of diving and swimming at the Spring we were off to our camp for the night and weekend, Hekima Camp and it is an amazing place just by the banks of Ewaso nyiro River
The night as usual is defined by letting free the hidden friendly self you and enjoy the night before breaking to bed
The next day it was an early game drive then off for the Mt Ololokwe the sacred mountain of this region yet a photography haven for a camera eyed person
After breaking away from the concrete jungle it felt like a mind reset moment as I made it back to Nairobi waiting for the week to start
